    NUJS Kolkata’s JILS Blog is calling for submissions for it aims to publish a series of Legal Blogs in various vernacular languages used worldwide, starting from the 21st of February, 2023.

    About the Blog

    The Journal of Indian Law and Society (JILS), a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal [ISSN: 2277-5552] of interdisciplinary studies on law and society in India, run by the students of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences.

    Overview of the Opportunity

    India is a land of diverse culture and multilingualism. After three years of successful run, JILS Blog is back with its Vernacular Initiative. It gives us immense pleasure to announce the 4th Edition of the JILS Blog – Vernacular Initiative to celebrate International Mother Language Day .

    This initiative is about publishing series of Legal Blogs in vernacular languages that is used in different corners of the world.

    This country has more than 122 legal languages. But very few citizens are able to converse in a language that is known to all. Hence, causing language and communication barrier.

    Educating the society and motivating them to adapt speaking in Vernacular language will help addressing this issue.

    JILS Blog aims to publish a series of Legal Blogs that will help educating the society in a better way by making it available for a larger section of the society.

    The Opportunity

    JILS Blog invites contributions for legal blogs in all vernacular languages that one feels they are proficient at writing in.

    • The deadline for sending in the contributions is 19th February 2023.
