The COVID-19 pandemic was the worst time humankind has witnessed lately. The Pandemic created a tumult in our lives and has questioned the validity of the existing institutions. The established ideas like order, justice, equality, and representation had been shaken to the core, and a new world order was created after the massive upheaval. The aim of humanity, seemingly, was confined to survival as the Pandemic created chaos that was unimaginable for anyone.

The volume under consideration will aim to critically analyze the impact of COVID-19 in redefining the existing power structures, gender roles, and gender dynamics in various spheres of life. The edited book is proposed to be published under the Routledge book series called Academics, Politics and Society in the Post-Covid World. By looking at different perspectives and insights from qualitative/qualitative research, the chapters will reveal how the chaos of the Pandemic both heightened some gender-based obstacles while also creating new bonds and making it evident that long-neglected gender unfairness due to patriarchal structures needs to be tackled urgently. The authors will further examine opportunities for significant change from this unexpected public health emergency, highlighting crucial ways that embrace diversity and inclusion rather than reinstating the old status quo where power structures were inherently patriarchal.

The politics of life during/after COVID-19 has reshaped the norms, hierarchies, connections, self-concepts, and unfair biases permeating different areas of society. The proposed volume aims to encourage authors and researchers from diverse backgrounds to share their perspectives and outlooks for a meaningful discussion on any one of the following areas that include (but are not limited to) Academic transformations, Social Transformations, Political Transformations, Gender and (Mental) Health Disparities, Socio-Political Gender Shift, COVID-19, and Gender: Global Perspectives.

The proposed volume aims to create a platform that discusses the significant upheavals to universities, public policy, and local communities brought on by the Pandemic; this book will take insights from various fields to understand how gender dynamics have shifted in settings like education (both at the level of schools and universities), jobs, health care, business, and criminal justice systems.
