3rd Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Youth Parliament And Model United Nations To Be Held At Quantum University Roorkee

In order to develop critical thinking on various social –legal issues the Debating Society, Department of Law, Quantum University, Roorkee is organizing 3rd Edition of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Youth Parliament and Model United Nations on April 29 and 30, 2025 .

Committees & Agendas

1. Lok Sabha : Evaluating the Reservation System : Focusing on the creamy layer, sub-classification of SC's and ST's, and the need for a Caste Census.

2. All Indian Stakeholders Meet: Overseeing and examine the CAA emphasizing it's impact on citizens

3. United Nations Human Rights Council: Strengthening Cyber Laws and ensuring Human Rights protection.

4. United Nations Commission on Status of Women: Enhancing Women's Political Participation & Combating Gender Based Violence - Strengthening Legal Protection & Ensuring Political Representation of women.

5. International Press: Journalism | Photographer | Caricaturist

Language

Eligibility

1. Only a bonafide, full-time student, who is enrolled for a degree programme in any College/ University/ Institution, can register for “Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Youth Parliament 2025).

2. Only students, who are less than 25 years of age, as of 1st July 2023, can participate.

3. Evaluation criteria will carry 25 points. Final evaluation will be made out of 100 points. Four (4) minutes time will be given to each participant to speak on the given on the agendas.

General Guidelines

1. The Organizing Committee holds the right to allot/ cancel the portfolio of the delegates.

2. No request in the change of allocation shall be entertained after the allocation is done.

3. The amount once paid shall not be subject to refund.

4. All participants are required to submit a copy of their college ID which is mandatory during the registration Process.

5. The Organizing Committee holds the right to check the ID proof of the delegates.

6. The final decision of the Organizing Committee shall be binding in all cases.

Rules and Procedure

1. ROLL CALL : The Executive Board would call out each portfolios names and the concerned portfolio need to raise their placard and attend their roll call by either saying Present or Upastith.

2. SETTING UP OF AGENDA: Setting of the agenda is the first step to enter into the debate. It is basically done to make everyone aware about the agenda in hand. A simple majority of N+1/2 is to be attained to set up the agenda
