GNLU Gandhinagar Announces Third Edition Of National Legal Ideathon 2025

The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, through its Legal Incubation Council (GLIC), announces the third edition of its flagship event – GNLU National Legal Ideathon 3.0 (न्याय नवीनीकरणोत्सव 3.0), scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th September 2025 at the GNLU campus.

GNLU, an institution of legal education in India, is dedicated to promoting academic excellence, interdisciplinary research, and innovation. In line with this vision, GLIC – a Section 8 Company established under the aegis of GNLU – serves as a platform for mentoring and supporting legal-tech and interdisciplinary ventures. Over the years, GLIC has guided and nurtured 35+ start-ups and Proofs of Concept, bridging the gap between academic innovation and practical application through mentorship, access to funding, and a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The GNLU National Legal Ideathon 3.0 is designed as a national-level competition to encourage students and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions to pressing legal challenges. The event will feature two parallel tracks:

• Ideation Track – for participants with original and actionable ideas or proposals.
• Prototype Track – for participants presenting demonstrable products or solutions (tech-enabled or otherwise).

Participants will explore diverse themes, including but not limited to:

• Access to Justice
• Digitized Judiciary & Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)
• AI & Data-Driven Justice
• Legal Compliance Tools
• ESG & IP Tech
• Legal Education Technology

Event Details:

• Venue: Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar
• Registration Deadline: 26th August 2025
• PPT Submission Deadline: 6th September 2025
• Event Dates: 12th–13th September 2025
• Team Size: 2–3 members
• Eligibility: Undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines (aged 16 years and above)

Registration Fees:

• Ideation Track: ₹1500 per team (Early Bird – ₹1300 for the first 10 teams)
• Prototype Track: ₹2500 per team (Early Bird – ₹2100 for the first 10 teams)
  (Accommodation charges are separate and not included in the registration fees.)

Prizes Worth ₹1.25 Lakh

• Prototype Track: Winner – ₹50,000 | Runner-up – ₹35,000
• Ideation Track: Winner – ₹25,000 | Runner-up – ₹15,000

Beyond the cash prizes, participants will gain exposure through expert panels, mentorship opportunities, networking with industry leaders, and feedback from juries comprising legal-tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and academics.
