    National Law University Odisha, Cuttack was established by Act 4 of 2008 by the Odisha State Legislature keeping in mind an enunciated vision of advancement of learning, teaching, research, diffusion of knowledge in the field of law and catering to the needs of society by developing the professional skills of those intending to take up the professions of Advocacy, Judicial Services, Legal services, and so on. Such endeavors enable students to pursue individual interests and take part in various literary and recreational activities throughout the academic year.

    The Constitutional Law Society of National Law University Odisha was established in 2018 with a vision to provide a platform for public discourse and deliberation vis-à-vis Constitutional Law. Constitutional Law Society NLUO seeks to supplement an accessible forum for intellectual discourse and shape the discussion of the most important and relevant issues of constitutional law through meticulous scholarship, public lectures and seminars, and research through independent projects, conferences, and cooperation with other institutions and individuals engaged in constitutional study.

    Course Details

    The 5th Credit Course by the Constitutional Law Society aims to enrich the understanding of and encourage research, discourse, and awareness on the subject of Equality Jurisprudence. The course shall incorporate practical examples and engage students through live discussions, assignments, problem-solving, and application of the theory.

    The course draws upon the expertise and experience of Resource Persons who have made significant contributions to the field. To further expand upon practical considerations and boost problem-solving skills, the course will also provide the participants with lessons and experience in Legislative Drafting.

    As future professionals in the field of law, understanding the intricacies associated with equality jurisprudence is necessary to contribute positively to its development, which this course endeavors to inculcate.

    Mode Of The Course

    The course shall be conducted in virtual mode.

    Classes And Evaluation

    The course shall consist of 16 hours of classes conducted over the first two weekends in March. Academicians with significant contributions in academia, legal luminaries, and jurists shall be joining us to conduct the classes.

    Participants would be evaluated based on their overall conduct and interaction with the faculty throughout the course, and also their performance in two assignments, a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) test, and preparation of a legislative draft based upon a hypothetical problem. To receive the certificate, it is mandatory to attend at least 75% of the classes, submit both of the assignments and score at least 50% on the Multiple Choice Question test.

    To Register for the course, participants are required to fill out the online application form which can be accessed here.

    Deadline to register for the course: 25th February, 2024.

    Participants are required to pay a fee of ₹500 for the course.

    Last day To Register - 25th February, 2024
