  • HNLU Launches Fifth Edition Of ‘Lex Osmose’ Courses

    Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur has launched its fifth edition of the ‘Lex Osmose’ courses after successfully completing the past four editions. The course will be conducted from 30th January to 5th March 2023. The Fifth Edition has six courses offered on various interdisciplinary themes of ‘Drafting of Pleadings and Documents in Courts and Different Tribunals’, ‘Law and Economics: Theory and Applications’, ‘Law & Practice(s) Regulating Acquisition of Listed Companies’, ‘Framing Legal Issues in Suits & Arbitration Proceedings’, ‘Arbitration in Reality – A Simulated Practitioner’s Perspective’, and ‘Intellectual Property issues in ICT’.

    The instructors for the fifth edition have eminent academics and practitioners like Mr. L. Ravichander (Senior Counsel at Andhra Pradesh and Telangana High Court), Prof. T.S. Somashekar (Professor of Economics and Chairperson, Post-Graduate and Doctoral Council, NLSIU), Mr. Vaibhav Ganjiwale (Head of Learning and Development, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas), Mr.PVS Giridhar Senior (Senior Council at Madras High Court and Senior Partner in Girdhar and Sai Law Firm), Dr. Srikant Parthasarathy, Door Tenant, Holborn Chambers, London) and Dr. Anindya Sircar (Chair Professor, IPR NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad).

    Speaking at the launch of the latest edition, Prof.V.C.Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor said, “The Lex Osmose program covers ‘niche’ areas of practice by customization and flexibility offered by professionals in the field”.

    ‘Lex Osmose’ was launched in 2020 designed as customized single/ double credit courses offered by external faculty of Academics, Advocates, Policy makers and policy wonks. These courses offered online and evaluated online by the instructors have certification (Non CGPA) based on minimum attendance of the 14 hour programme and completion of the evaluation. The number of enrollment per course shall be of minimum twenty five and maximum fifty in number. The course is open to non-HNLU students with a cap of 10 students per course.

    The course is offered free and has no enrollment charges and is open for students of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) Course and LL.M. Course with appropriate reservation of numbers which are detailed in the HNLU’s website section of ‘Lex Osmose’. In each course, three HNLU Faculty Members can also participate. The 16 hour course is spread out in 4-5 weeks and offered in the evenings on working days and day time in holidays. Each session will be of 120 minutes with a ten minute break and approximately two per week. The non-HNLU students can register for the courses at https://hnlu.ac.in/hnlu/lex-osmose/. The Edition is coordinated by Dr.Vipan Kumar, Dean of special projects and faculty members of HNLU.
