  • Campus Law Center Organises The 19th K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court 2023

    The Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, hosted its 19th K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court, 2023, in New Delhi. This year, the competition received participation from 96 institutions from India and abroad. The 60 teams shortlisted for the competition were from various institutions, including NLSIU, Bangalore, and Symbiosis Law School, Pune. Northumbria University, University College London (United Kingdom), Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guwahati University, Great Zimbabwe University (Zimbabwe), University of Ibadan (Nigeria), Prithvi Narayan Campus, Kathmandu University School of Law, National Law College (Nepal), Bangladesh University of Professionals (Bangladesh), and University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (Brunei) was also competing.

    This year’s moot problem invites teams to explore the legal and constitutional boundaries of sedition and free speech, along with the intricacies of national extradition laws. The problem is also formulated to test the teams’ abilities to extract, analyze, and present relevant facts from the collection of facts and statements. Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, Judge, Supreme Court of India, was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Function of the Competition held on February 17, 2023.

    The final round was judged by the judges of the Delhi High Court. Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, Judge, Supreme Court of India, was the Chief Guest, and Justice C.D. Singh, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, and Justice Anish Dayal of the Delhi High Court were the Guests of Honor at the Prize Distribution Ceremony at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

    Results :-

    1. Winner team:- School of law, Trichy- Thirumalaisamudram [Cash Prize of 25,000 rupees, a trophy, books from Ekta Publication, complimentary voucher and a gift]

    2. Runner Up: Army Institute of Law, Mohali; [Cash Price of 15000 rupees, books from Ekta Publication, a trophy, and a gift]

    3. Best speaker: Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS), Noida, [Cash Prize of 15000 rupees, a trophy, books from Ekta Publication, and a gift]
