  • NUSRL Ranchi To Host 2nd National Moot Court Competition On Consumer Protection Laws, 2026

    The Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP), National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, is organizing the 2nd National Moot Court Competition on Consumer Protection Laws, 2026, scheduled to be held from 27th February to 1st March, 2026.

    This National-level moot court competition aims to provide law students with an intellectually stimulating platform to engage with contemporary issues in Consumer Protection Laws. The competition focuses on enhancing participants' understanding of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and related legal frameworks governing unfair trade practices, misleading advertisements, product liability, and consumer dispute resolution mechanisms.

    Through rigorous memorial drafting and oral advocacy rounds, participants will analyse real-world consumer law problems and propose innovative legal solutions. The competition is designed to sharpen legal research, drafting, advocacy, and courtroom skills while encouraging critical thinking and teamwork.

    The moot reflects the evolving nature of consumer law in modern markets, including challenges arising from e-commerce, digital services, and corporate accountability. By bringing together law students from across the country, the competition promotes academic excellence and professional growth while fostering awareness of consumer rights and responsibilities.

    The winning team will be felicitated by the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, on 15th March, 2026, in observance of World Consumer Rights Day, making the event both prestigious and impactful.
