The Internship and Placement Assistance Cell of the 5-Year Integrated Law Course, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, is set to organise LexConnect 2026, a two-day professional interface aimed at fostering meaningful engagement between law students and diverse stakeholders from the legal profession. The programme is designed as an academic–industry bridge to equip students with practical exposure to contemporary legal practice and emerging professional pathways.
The initiative seeks to address the rapidly evolving legal ecosystem shaped by technological disruption, the growing prominence of intellectual property assets, increasingly complex cross-border transactions, and the expanding role of regulatory frameworks in corporate decision-making. Through this platform, the organisers intend to align academic training with industry expectations while creating structured opportunities for interaction, mentorship, and experiential learning.
The event will feature a series of curated sessions over two days. The first day will focus on the corporate-legal interface, beginning with an inaugural discussion exploring institutional and industry perspectives on modern legal practice. This will be followed by an interactive round-table format designed to facilitate focused dialogue across multiple practice areas such as corporate transactions, dispute resolution, finance, taxation, competition law, in-house counsel roles, and technology law.
A simulation exercise will conclude the first day, where participants will work in teams on a hypothetical cross-border acquisition scenario requiring negotiation, drafting, and strategic decision-making. The exercise is intended to test analytical ability, transactional awareness, and collaborative problem-solving skills in a realistic professional setting.
The second day will centre on emerging frontiers in law and policy. It will commence with an interactive workshop examining innovation, intellectual property strategy, and enforcement challenges through case-based learning. A structured discussion session will follow, focusing on the impact of technological tools, automation, and data-driven processes on legal services and professional models.
The programme will also include a crisis-management simulation based on a hypothetical data-breach scenario involving regulatory, legal, and reputational implications. Participants will assume different functional roles to formulate compliance responses, liability assessments, and communication strategies within a time-bound environment.
The event will conclude with a valedictory session reflecting on the broader constitutional and institutional dimensions of legal practice and professional responsibility.
LexConnect 2026 is conceived as a strategic academic initiative to strengthen the interface between legal education and professional practice. By combining interactive pedagogy with practitioner engagement, the organisers aim to foster industry-ready competencies, informed career decision-making, and sustained professional networks among participants.
