    The Faculty of Law, University of Delhi formally launched its Alumni Association on 07 February 2026, marking a historic milestone in its 102-year academic legacy. The inaugural event, titled “Aarambh,” was held at the University's Sports Complex and witnessed the participation of over 4,000 attendees.

    The event was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court of India, Judges of various High Courts, senior advocates, distinguished alumni, academicians, ministers, senior bureaucrats, and members of the legal fraternity from across the country.

    “Aarambh” marked not merely the inauguration of an alumni body, but the institutionalisation of a structured and enduring alumni platform aimed at strengthening mentorship, fostering academic and professional opportunities, and enabling alumni to contribute meaningfully to the Faculty's long-term growth and excellence.

    The programme featured the launch of the Faculty's official Kulgeet and the unveiling of the official logo of the Faculty of Law Alumni Association, symbolising identity, continuity, and inter-generational connection. On the occasion, the Alumni Association also announced a range of fellowships and initiatives focused on student support, research advancement, academic excellence, and leadership development in law and public service.

    Addressing the gathering, Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, reflected on the enduring bond between institutions and their alumni. Sharing personal reflections on his formative years, he emphasised that an alumni association serves as a living institution that carries forward values, discipline, and a deep sense of public duty, strengthening the very idea of legal education.

    Vice-Chancellor Of University of Delhi Prof Yogesh Singh , in his address, noted that the formation of the Alumni Association after more than a century reflects institutional maturity and collective resolve. He highlighted that the initiative would deepen engagement between alumni, students, and the institution, while enabling structured support for learning, research, and professional excellence.

    Speaking on the occasion, HM Justice Ravindra Bhat, Former Judge, Supreme Court & also President Alumni Association,Faculty of Law , University of Delhi described the launch as a defining moment in the Faculty's history, stating that it formalises a lifelong bond between the institution and its alumni and will facilitate mentorship, scholarships, fellowships, internships, and sustained institutional support.

    The Dean & Head of, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi Prof. Dr. Anju Vali Tikoo also underscored the significance of the milestone, observing that structured alumni engagement would play a crucial role in enriching academic life, strengthening research culture, and creating meaningful opportunities for students.

    The inaugural programme was organised by the office-bearers and Executive Members of the Alumni Association, including Senior Advocate Sanjay Jain (Senior Vice-President), Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra (Vice-President), Shri Abhay Kumar, IRS (Secretary), Jitendra Singh Mittal (Treasurer), and Dr. Maotoshi Ao (Joint Secretary), along with Executive Members Prof. Anupam Jha, Prof. Gunjan Gupta, Prof. Alok Sharma, Adv. Akash Shukla, Adv. Rohit Sah, and Adv. Rahul Yadav. The event was supported by student volunteers who ensured its smooth conduct.

    The launch of “Aarambh” marks a significant chapter in the Faculty's institutional journey, laying the foundation for sustained alumni engagement and academic excellence.
