CNLU Patna Announces VIDHIKTA 4.0 – India's Largest Legal Aid Fest

Chanakya National Law University, Patna came into being on 15 July 2006 under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006 (Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006) and is recognized in Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. It was established with a noble vision of serving society through the dissemination of high-quality legal education and the promotion of legal awareness. Over the years, CNLU has earned a strong pan-India reputation as a centre of excellence in legal education and research. To further enhance professional readiness, CNLU regularly organises career development initiatives, skill-development workshops, and personalised one-to-one career guidance for its students.
CNLU is enriched by the contributions of eminent retired Judges, Senior Advocates, and Academicians to its teaching and research programmes. The University is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure for the successful imparting of legal education of the highest standards.
About the Legal Aid Cell:
The Legal Aid Cell of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, established in 2007, functions in furtherance of Article 39A of the Constitution of India and the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. Since its inception, the Cell has been actively engaged in promoting access to justice for socially and economically disadvantaged communities through legal awareness programmes, legal aid clinics, community outreach initiatives, and pro bono assistance. Recently, the Cell has strengthened its engagement by introducing daily client counselling services within the University premises, provided free of cost with the support of trained student volunteers and practicing advocates.
About VIDHIKTA 4.0:
Vidhikta, conceptualised in 2019, derives its name from the confluence of two words - Vidhik and Sahayta - collectively signifying legal aid. Through the previous three editions, Vidhikta has grown into India's largest legal aid fest, drawing participation from over fifty institutions and hundreds of students across India. With the same enthusiasm, we are hosting the 4th edition of Vidhikta by engaging with Law Students, Academicians, Legal Professionals, State and Central Bodies, Civil Services Organizations (CSO), Panchayats, Gram Panchayats, Blocks, PLVs, and the Underserved Children.
Building upon this foundational objective, the fourth edition of its flagship initiative, Vidhikta 4.0, seeks to engage and unite members of the legal fraternity on a common platform, dedicated to strengthening the discourse on legal aid and access to justice.

Timeline of Event:
The event will be organised in a hybrid mode with virtual rounds taking place on 15th March 2026 and the physical rounds being held on 28th – 29th March 2026.
Eligibility:
· Client Counselling Competition and Bail Petition Drafting Competition is open to all undergraduate students pursuing law (3-year or 5-year courses) from any recognised University across India.
· Nukkad Natak Competition is open to School Students (age group 14-18 years), College or University UG Students (from any field of study), NGOs, social workers, and para-legal volunteers (PLVs) across India.
· Painting Competition is open to children from schools, orphanages and shelter homes between the age group of 6 to 15 years.
Prizes
Vidhikta 4.0 is promising a very exciting prize pool of INR 70,000 along with trophies for various events.
