On April 5, 2026, Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) hosted the semi-final and final rounds of the 4th CNLU-Cyber Law National Moot Court Competition, 2026, marking the third and final day of the event. The competition was organized under the aegis of the Moot Court Committee of CNLU, under the direction of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Faizan Mustafa and Dr. Vijay Kumar Vimal, Assistant Professor and Faculty Convenor of the Committee.

The competition received registrations from over 50 teams across the country. Of these, 16 teams qualified for the preliminary rounds, and 4 teams advanced to the semi-final rounds held on April 5.

Following the rounds, two teams—one from National Law University, Delhi and the other from the Five-Year Integrated Law Course, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi—qualified for the finals. The team comprising Vani Jain and Krish Nandwani from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi emerged as the winner.

The panel of judges for the competition included Justice (Retd.) S. Muralidhar, former Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court and former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court; Ms. Shalini Sati Prasad, Partner at J. Sagar Associates; Mr. Ashok P. Wadje, Associate Professor of Law and Proctor at Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad; Mr. Kunal Kapoor, Associate Partner at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys; and Prof. Dr. Manwendra Kumar Tiwari, Professor of Law at CNLU.

The moot proposition was based on the use of artificial intelligence systems for aiding child pornography. Participants, representing both petitioners and respondents, presented structured and legally consistent arguments, and the competition witnessed a high standard of advocacy. The theme reflected a contemporary issue of significant relevance amid the increasing ubiquity of artificial intelligence and cyberspace.

The valedictory ceremony was held in the evening following the final rounds. Prof. Dr. Faizan Mustafa delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of discussions on contemporary issues such as cyber law.

Justice (Retd.) S. Muralidhar, the Chief Guest, addressed the gathering, appreciating the quality of the competition and the submissions made by the participants, as well as the hospitality extended by CNLU.
