D.Y. Patil University To Host Conference On 'The Security State and Digital Governance' From March 6–8, 2026

D.Y. Patil University, School of Law, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, will host a three-day conference from March 6–8, 2026, centred on the theme “The Security State and Digital Governance: Rethinking the Architecture of Criminalization.”
The conference aims to bring together scholars, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to critically examine how emerging digital technologies are reshaping criminal justice systems, surveillance practices, and governance structures.
Thematic Tracks
The conference is structured around five key tracks:
Rethinking Criminalization – Examining penal power, due process concerns, and overcriminalization.
Digital Governance – Analysing AI-driven tools, biometric systems, predictive policing, and algorithmic control in justice systems.
Criminological & Psychological Perspectives – Exploring online radicalization, cyber behaviour, and evolving criminological models.
Forensics & Investigations – Addressing digital forensics, AI-assisted evidence, and investigative challenges.
Victimology & Community Resilience – Focusing on digital harms, privacy violations, and community-based responses.
Call for Papers
Original research papers and policy critiques are invited from academicians, researchers, students, and professionals working in criminology, criminal justice, law, and allied disciplines.
Extended abstracts may be considered in lieu of full papers.

Notification of Acceptance: 28 February 2026
Participant Registration Deadline: 01 March 2026
The event will be conducted in physical mode at the D.Y. Patil University campus in Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
Registration fees include conference materials, certificate of participation, and meals. Accommodation, however, must be arranged separately by participants.
