Empowering Women: NLU Jodhpur's Entrepreneurship & Digital Literacy Initiative

    The Vice-Chancellor of National Law University Jodhpur, Professor Dr. Harpreet Kaur, has sanctioned the establishment of the NLU Jodhpur Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Women. On December 1, 2023, Professor Dr. Harpreet Kaur and Dr. Neeti Mathur visited Arid Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur (AFRI) to explore potential collaboration between the two institutions. During this visit, AFRI Director Shri M.R. Baloch briefed Professor Kaur about AFRI's ongoing activities. Senior Scientist at AFRI, Dr. Tarun Kant, presented an in-depth overview of various projects undertaken by AFRI.

    On December 7, 2023, a one-day event aimed at promoting women's entrepreneurship and sustainability was organized by the National Law University Jodhpur and the Arid Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur. This program involved the training of 24 women from Surpura village, adopted by NLU Jodhpur, in bio-fertilizer, organic pickle, and soap manufacturing. The training was conducted by Dr. Sangita Singh and Dr. Sangita Tripathi from the AFRI team, and the practical sessions took place in Surpura with the support of Surpura Sarpanch Shri Dinesh Bishnoi and Dr. Anjali Thanvi from NLUJ.

    The collaborative efforts between the National Law University Jodhpur and the Arid Forest Research Institute Jodhpur (AFRI) have recently concluded several initiatives to boost women entrepreneurship. On December 13, 2023, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Women at National Law University, Jodhpur, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Harpreet Kaur, orchestrated a digital transactions workshop. Thirty-two women from Surpura, the village adopted by NLUJ, actively engaged in this workshop.

    Mr. Arvind Vaghela, a member of the Executive Committee of NLU Jodhpur Alumni Association from the 2020 cohort, conducted hands-on training on digital transactions for the participants. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the workshop, deeming it beneficial.

    NLU Jodhpur wil host similar workshops in the future.
