IDIA Odisha To Host PACITAS MUN 2026 At National Law University Odisha

Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA) is a nationwide movement initiated by Dr. Shamnad Basheer, an NLSIU alumnus and philanthropist, aimed at transforming students from underprivileged communities into world-class lawyers and community leaders. IDIA identifies students with an aptitude for law and trains them for law entrance examinations over a period of 2–3 years, while also providing sustained mentorship and academic support. By fostering diversity in leading law schools across India, IDIA enriches the legal education ecosystem, with its backbone being a strong network of student volunteers spread across the country

National Law University Odisha is among India's premier law universities, recognised for its emphasis on research, public service, and constitutional values. Organised under the aegis of IDIA, PACITAS MUN aligns itself with IDIA's nationwide mission to expand access to quality legal education for students from underprivileged and marginalised backgrounds.

It is scheduled to be held from 6th–8th February, 2026 at the NLUO campus, Cuttack, Odisha. It seeks to bring together school and university students from across the country for informed, inclusive, and solution-oriented dialogue. The conference focuses on cultivating critical thinking, diplomacy, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving, while contributing meaningfully to IDIA's vision of educational equity.

PACITAS will include the following five committees:

Deliberation upon Judicial Overreach and the Need, or the Lack Thereof, for Comprehensive Judicial Reforms

● UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change):

2.Evaluating Pathways for Achieving a Blue Economy while Mitigating Deep-Sea Resource Exploitations
