    The National Law Institute University, Bhopal, through its Student Bar Association (SBA), successfully organised the 2nd NLIU SBA Law Conclave on April 11–12, 2026, bringing together legal experts from across the country.

    The two-day conclave was themed “Reimagining Law and Justice in the 21st Century: Challenges, Accountability and Reforms.”

    The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S. Suryaprakash.

    Addresses were delivered by:

    • Justice M. I. Arun

    • Justice S. A. Dharmadhikari

    • Justice Sanjay Karol

    • The conclave featured four panel discussions, podcast-style sessions, and a national quiz competition.

    Arbitration Framework:
    Chaired by Justice Sanjay Karol, the session focused on strengthening India's arbitration regime, highlighting the need for certainty and efficiency. Speakers included Jayant Mehta, Siddharth R. Gupta, and Abhishek Kumar.

    Access To Justice & Technology:
    Led by Justice M. I. Arun, the discussion explored digital courts and challenges arising from the digital divide. Ajay Bagadia, Sankalp Kochar, and George Varghese contributed to the session.

    Industry-Ready Lawyers:
    This session emphasised aligning legal education with industry requirements, featuring C. V. Raghu, Shujath Bin Ali, Sonal Basu, Reuben Chacko, and Pranjal Bhattacharya.

    Beyond Colonial Legacy:
    The final session, featuring Justice N. Kotiswar Singh and Justice S. A. Dharmadhikari, focused on indigenous legal thinking and the need for judicial reforms.

    The conclave concluded with a valedictory ceremony and prize distribution.

    SBA Faculty Advisor Prof. (Dr.) Raka Arya, along with office bearers Priyanshu Gupta (President), Yash Patidar (Vice-President), and Anadi Keshari (Secretary), termed the event a “great success” and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to promote meaningful legal discourse.

    The conclave reaffirmed NLIU's role as a significant hub for progressive legal dialogue in India.
