The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, in collaboration with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court of India, is organizing a Three Days (20-Hour) Advanced Mediation Training Programme from April 28 to April 30, 2026. The programme will have daily sessions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Training Programme is being organised in view of the enactment of the Mediation Act 2023 and in recognition of the critical role law universities play in preparing future mediation professionals.

The Programme is designed to enhance faculty competence and ensure academic alignment with national mediation standards and MCPC's vision. It is structured to equip faculty members with conceptual clarity, practical mediation skills, and effective pedagogical methods. Participants will be trained in theory, communication techniques, and experiential learning through structured simulations and role plays. The programme will be conducted by two distinguished senior trainers.

Ms. Uma Ramanathan, Senior Counsel, an internationally trained mediator and mediator trainer, who serves as the Organising Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Mediation and Conciliation Centre, High Court of Madras, and Ms. R. Vijaya Kamala, a senior mediator and MCPC-accredited trainer and an advocate practicing at the Madras High Court, both with more than 30 years of experience, will serve as the resource persons. Both the resource persons are Master Trainers associated with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee of the Supreme Court of India.

The programme aims to build capacity among faculty members so that they are able to independently conduct 40-hour mediation training programmes and train students, faculty members, and advocates to certify them as mediators.
