    The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, in collaboration with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court of India, successfully organised a 40-hour Mediation Training Programme from January 27 to January 31, 2026.

    The programme comprised daily sessions from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and was organised in light of the enactment of the Mediation Act, 2023, recognising the crucial role played by law universities in nurturing future mediation professionals.

    The training programme was designed to enhance faculty competence and ensure academic alignment with national mediation standards and the vision of the MCPC.

    Participants received training in mediation theory, communication techniques, and experiential learning through structured simulations and role-play exercises. The programme aimed to equip faculty members with conceptual clarity, practical mediation skills, and effective pedagogical methods.

    The sessions were conducted by two distinguished senior trainers. Smt. S. Susheela, Designated Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, with over 39 years of professional experience, served as a resource person. An internationally trained mediator, she is also a Master Trainer associated with the MCPC of the Supreme Court of India.

    She was joined by Mr. A. J. Jawad, Registrar, International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad (IAMCH), who is a mediator-trainer associated with the MCPC of the Supreme Court of India.

    The programme reflects RGNUL Punjab's continued commitment to strengthening Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) education and promoting mediation as an effective mechanism for dispute resolution within the legal system.
