Symbiosis Law School, Pune Team Reaches Quarterfinals At World Rounds Of IBA ICC Moot Court Competition 2026

A team from Symbiosis Law School, Pune reached the quarterfinals at the World Rounds of the IBA ICC Moot Court Competition 2026, held in The Hague, the Netherlands, from June 12 to 19, 2026. The team competed against 94 international teams participating in the competition.
The team comprised Gauri Jitendra (4th Year, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)), Smriti Singh (4th Year, B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)), Aditya Kashyap (5th Year, B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)), Khushboo Jagasia (5th Year, B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)), and Poorvi Mittal (4th Year, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)).
The IBA ICC Moot Court Competition is an international criminal law moot centred on simulated proceedings before the International Criminal Court at The Hague. Organised by the International Bar Association, the 2026 edition featured participation from 94 teams representing 48 countries. Bond University, Australia, won the competition, while NLSIU Bangalore finished as runners-up and Singapore Management University secured third place.
The 2026 moot proposition focused on alleged war crimes and raised issues relating to the delivery of medical aid during armed conflict. Participants were required to address questions of international criminal law, analyse factual and legal issues, and apply relevant legal principles to the facts of the case.
The team's rounds were evaluated by judges from international courts, professors of criminal law, and legal professionals, including members of the International Bar Association. The competition involved issues relating to international criminal law, war crimes, and evaluation of evidence.
