Vice Chancellor Of RGNUL Punjab Participates In 'Drug-Free, Vibrant Punjab Campaign' At Ferozepur

The Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Prof. (Dr.) Jai S. Singh, along with members of the university's teaching and non-teaching staff, participated in a three-kilometre march at Ferozepur on February 10, 2026, as part of the 'Drug-Free, Vibrant Punjab Campaign'. The march was led by the Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria.
The campaign, organised as a mass awareness initiative, seeks to address the issue of substance abuse in Punjab by mobilising citizens across age groups. The participation of the RGNUL community reflected the university's engagement with matters of social responsibility and public concern.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor cautioned against external forces allegedly contributing to the spread of drugs in the country and emphasised the importance of sustained public participation, institutional coordination and community-level sensitisation. He underscored the role of educational institutions in promoting awareness and preventive engagement among youth.
The march commenced from the historic Saragarhi Gurdwara Sahib in Ferozepur and saw the participation of school students, university students and members of civil society. Participants carried messages promoting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
Several academic leaders were present, including Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala. Religious leader Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon of Radha Soami Satsang Beas also attended the event.
Representing RGNUL, the Registrar, faculty members and administrative staff participated in the march. Among those present were Dr. Basant Singh and Mr. Siddhartha Fuller, Assistant Professors of Law at RGNUL.
The participants collectively pledged to support efforts aimed at combating substance abuse in the State.
