Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning (using rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions), and self-correction.

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has revolutionized various aspects of human life, from literacy to education, and healthcare to transportation and beyond. However, with these advancements come a plethora of legal and ethical challenges that need to be addressed to ensure responsible and equitable use of AI globally. This Seminar aims to explore and bridge the legal and ethical emerging issues in the digital era concerning AI.

AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics, are increasingly integrated into various sectors, impacting socio-legal norms, economic structures, and governance frameworks. As AI systems become more autonomous and pervasive, concerns regarding privacy, bias, accountability, transparency, and human rights have gained prominence. The need for robust legal and ethical frameworks to govern AI development, deployment, and use is paramount to mitigate potential risks and foster trust.

In this AI-related seminar, attendees will typically be discussing the nexus of AI and emerging issues related to laws and ethics. This can include presentations on cutting-edge research, real-world case studies, and discussions on ethical considerations, with academicians, scholars, researchers, and professionals in the field of law.

The objectives of national seminar are as follows:-

    • To identify key legal and ethical challenges arising from the proliferation of AI technologies globally.
    • To examine existing legal frameworks and ethical guidelines related to AI across different jurisdictions.
    • To analyze the gaps and inconsistencies in current regulations and propose recommendations for enhancing legal clarity and ethical standards.
    • To foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among policymakers, industry stakeholders, researchers, and civil society to address AI-related challenges effectively.
