Lawyers At Delhi District Courts Call Off Work Tomorrow In Protest Against Attack On Brethren, PCR

Work in all six district courts in Delhi will get affected on Tuesday with the lawyers calling a complete strike.

The coordination committee of All-District Courts Bar Association has decided to call off work on Tuesday i.e., April 10 to protest the brutal attack on four lawyers at Karkardooma Metro Station parking on Saturday night and the alleged conduct of PCR personnel who reached the spot only to flee the spot in a matter of minutes without any intervention.

Saket Court Bar Association hon’y secretary Dhir Singh Kasana said, "Four lawyers had some argument with the parking attendants at the metro station near Karkardooma court complex. The parking attendants started assaulting the lawyers and were soon joined by many others in the attack."

Kasana said as per information, over 25 people were involved in the brutal attack on the lawyers who were later rushed to hospital.

He also shared the lawyers made a PCR call twice and the PCR van reached the spot but fled on seeing the fight.

"Though an FIR has been registered and some accused have been arrested but we want the main accused to be arrested and demand that all the Delhi Police personnel who were in the PCR van on both the calls should be suspended for fleeing the spot," said Kasana.
