    The Kerala Government has issued additional regulations for all persons and institutions to observe for a period of one year.

    The regulations are titled Kerala Epidemic Disease Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Additional Regulations, 2020. The Kerala Government has invoked the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Kerala Epidemic Diseases Ordinance, 2020.

    The Regulations requires all persons to (1) cover their mouth and nose with the mask/face cover in all public places, work places, any place where public have access, all kinds of vehicles and during transport (2) maintain a social distance of six feet between person to person in all public places and functions.

    The Regulations also prohibits spitting in public places.

    It also limits the participants at Marriage Functions, Funeral Functions and Social Gathering. For Marriage functions, the maximum number of participants at a time shall not exceed fifty persons.In funeral functions the maximum participants at a time shall not exceed twenty persons. The maximum participants in social gathering shall not exceed ten persons. Social gathering includes get together, processions, dharna, congregation, demonstration etc. and it shall not be conducted without the written permission of the concerned authority. It is also provided that the maximum number of persons/customers in shops and all other commercial establishments permitted at a time shall not exceed twenty. Organizers of the functions, and owners of the shops are also required to ensure that social distancing norms are followed. Sanitizers are also to be provided by organizers/shop owners.

    The Regulations further provides that persons intend to visit Kerala from other States/Union Territories and from any other country shall furnish the details as prescribed in the web enabled 'COVID-19 Jagratha e-platform' established by the Government for contact tracing, ensuring quarantine and other COVID-19 combating measures to minimize the potential of spread of the epidemic.

    The regular operation of Inter-State stage carriage road transport from and to Kerala by public and private sectors shall remain suspended.
