The Alumni Association of the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, is organizing an e-Symposium titled "Future of NLSIU".

It will be held on June 27, 2020 from 5pm; interested participants may register for the event at: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_XoI0YX_gSCusIl_R7rbMfA

The symposium will analyze the steps that may be undertaken by the University to maintain quality education, classroom diversity and to imbibe technological aide in delivery of legal education, in the backdrop of diminishing state funds.

The key points to be discussed during the event are:

    • Infrastructure and Investment
    • Diversity and Inclusion
    • Technology and its Role in Legal Education

This is the first event to be hosted by alumni group, with a view to assist their alma mater in "reaching greater heights".

"In the recent past, the NLSIU has been in the news for various reasons. While we celebrate our NIRF Ranking, we cannot lose sight of the fact that other law schools have been progressively catching up. The law school was also in the news because of a recent reduction in budgetary allocation by the state government.

With state-aid diminishing, how does an institution create the infrastructure for catering to the needs of its student body, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders? What role does the law school have in ensuring diversity in the class-room and outside it? How can the class-room and the law school be more inclusive? What role can technology play in assisting the law school in delivery of legal education or making a more accessible class-room or further raising resources by monetizing distance education programs?" the Alumni Association said.
