A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) plea has been moved before the Allahabad High Court seeking a direction to merge all Madrasas of Uttar Pradesh with the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Siksha Parishad and the UGC so that the Madrasa students can come out of the rigid religious mindset.

The PIL plea has been moved by petitioner in person Saher Naqvi wherein she has stated that since common education is not being provided to the Madrasa students and only religious knowledge is imparted to them, therefore, it has the potential to harm the society.

The plea submits that the separate education system gives birth to an evil mindset, and this turns into bad activities due to which all the living people suffer and the same is also harmful to the society.

"The Madarshas student nature and behavior are not like common student's behavior by which they being separated by their education. And there is no progressive change in their behavior, not only U.P. but also all over the world are suffering this type of Islamic Separate Education." (sic)

The plea avers that the Madrasa teachers prefer to provide Islamic Religion education and they do not provide the common and progressive education to their students. The petitioner has stated that the idea behind filing the instant PIL plea is to improve the evil and bad activities which are allegedly being run in the Madrasa.

The plea further states that all the burning matters, which come to light in day-to-day media reports, emerge from these Madrasas.

"According to the media reports, we see in the news reports like Hijab dispute, Topi dispute, and Islamic Terrorism what are the reasons behind this, that we think that these issues raised from the separate education which emerges rigid mindset, Evil Education, we found that this is the only root" (sic)

The plea states that the State Government has not taken any action regarding this matter and it alleges that there are many secretaries, officers, and solicitors, who are with these Madrasas and that is why the relevant issues have not been solved to date.

The plea further contends that this matter should be solved as soon as possible by way of the Court's direction to the concerned authorities. Otherwise, the plea adds, this separate education system would result in Home War in the country.

Lastly, the plea seeks a direction to the authority concerned to take action on this matter and also reform the education system of Madrasas for the betterment of the students.
