CBDT Notifies Centralised Processing Of Equalisation Levy Statement Scheme, 2023

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the Centralized Processing of Equalization Levy Statement Scheme, 2023.The scheme shall be applicable with respect to the processing of the Equalization Levy Statements.Every assessee or e-commerce operator shall furnish the Equalization Levy Statement under sub-section (1) of Section 167 within the time stipulated under Rule 5(2) of the Rules.E-commerce operators may furnish an equalization levy statement or a revised equalization levy statement at any time before the expiration of two years from the end of the financial year in which the specified services were provided or the e-commerce supply of services was made.An assessee or e-commerce operator may furnish an equalization levy statement in response to a notice sent by the Assessing Officer under Section 167(3) in accordance with Rule 6 of the Rules.The Commissioner may declare an Equalization Levy Statement invalid for non-compliance with procedures for using any software not validated and approved by the Director General; or on account of incomplete information in the Equalization Levy Statement.No assessee or e-commerce operator shall be required to appear personally or through an authorized representative before the Center in connection with any proceedings. Written or electronic communication from such a person or authorized representative in the format specified by the center shall be sufficient in compliance with the query or clarification received from the center. The Center may call for clarification, evidence, or documents as may be required for the purpose of facilitating the processing of Equalization Levy Statements, and all such clarification, evidence, or documents shall be furnished electronically.Notification No. 03/2023Date: 07.02.2023Click Here To Read The Notification
