    A Delhi Court has rejected the interim bail plea filed by accused Anirudh Dahiya, a wrestler by profession, for the purpose of sitting in college examinations, in connection with the alleged murder of former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankhar at the Chhatrasal Stadium.

    Additional Sessions Judge Shivaji Anand passed the order after observing that the case involves large group ofaccused persons and that the charge-sheet against all the accused personshas not been filed yet in the matter.

    Dahiya had sought 13 days Interim bail in view of his exams for B.P.Ed course in a college based in Haryana. It was therefore submitted that interim bail be granted to him in order for him to sit for exams of fourth semester commencing from September 29.

    "Accordingly in view of natureand gravity of offence, I do not find it a fit case for grant of interim bail to the applicanthence the present application for grant of interim bail is dismissed," the Court ordered.

    A Court had last last month taken cognizance in the chargesheet filed by Delhi Police against Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar and 12 others in the matter.

    The Delhi Police had registered an FIR under sec. 302 (punishment for murder) and sec. 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 365, 325, 323, 341,506, 188, 269, 34 and 120B of IPC along with sec. 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

    Sagar, who had been training at the iconic Chhatrasal Stadium, died while two of his friends got injured after they were allegedly assaulted by Sushil Kumar and some other wrestlers on May 4, at the Chhatrasal Stadium premises in Delhi.

    Kumar is presently lodged in Tihar Jail after he was sent to judicial custody by a Delhi Court.
