    The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday approved the proposal for appointment of two Additional Judges of the Gauhati High Court as Permanent Judges of that High Court.

    They are:

    • Justice Sanjay Kumar Medhi
    • Justice Nani Tagia

    Both of them were appointed as Additional Judges at the Gauhati HC on November 19, 2018.

    Justice Medhi obtained enrolled at the North East Bar Council after obtaining his degree in Law from the Delhi University, in 1994. He was appointed as the Standing Counsel of the Gauhati High Court in the year 2012, which he continued till his elevation. In April 2017, he was designated as a Senior Advocate and in November, 2017 he was appointed as the Additional Advocate General, Assam.

    Justice Tagia also obtained his degree in Law from the Delhi University. His parent High Court is that of Arunachal Pradesh. He was designated as a Senior Advocate by the Gauhati High Court in April, 2014.
