    In view of the prevailing situation of the pandemic of COVID-19, the Calcutta High Court has decided to extend the period of suspension of regular court work until April 30, 2020.

    Through notification issued in this behalf on Wednesday, the Registrar General intimated that the order of suspension of regular works of the High Court and its Circuit Benches, and also in the Subordinate Courts/Offices under its control, shall continue to operate till 30th April, 2020.

    This is in continuation of the Office order dated March 24 whereby regular court work was suspended till April 9.

    Accordingly, it has been clarified that during the period from 9th April, 2020 to 30th April, 2020, two Division Benches and three Single Benches shall take up extremely urgent matters through Miscrosoft Teams or other electronic medium, on April 16, April 21, April 23, April 28 and April 30.

    Details of respective benches and the nature of urgent matters that will be heard by them are mentioned in the notification attached below.

    Notably, the High Court had already, vide an order dated March 24, extended the subsistence of all the interim orders passed by it and the courts subordinate to it till April 30, provided they were subsisting on March 16.
