The Telangana Government has issued a Government order, directed towards the Director-General of Police, Hyderabad/Commissioner/Superintendents of Police, in the State regarding the Movement of the Advocates in the State.

The Telangana Government has issued the Direction that:

Reviewing the pandemic situation in the State, the Telangana Government yesterday decided to extend the lockdown with certain modifications across the State of Telangana from 31.05.2021 to 09.06.2021.

It may be noted that last week, the Advocate General had informed the court that necessary orders would be passed in a day or two with respect to exemption or Advocates during Lockdown/Curfew.

It may be noted that the movement has to be restricted to plying between Residence and Office during the said hours and shall be valid till 09.06.2021.

In related news, the Madhya Pradesh High Court last month disposed of a plea seeking permission regarding the movement of the junior/associate advocates and regularly employed clerks with the advocate's offices during COVID-19 Lockdown.

Last month, in a letter sent to the State government, the Chairman of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, P. S.
