Given Electric Shocks, Tortured To Implicate Political Leaders: Parliament Security Breach Accused Tell Delhi Court

A Delhi Court has been informed that the accused persons arrested in the UAPA case registered over the security breach in Parliament in December last year, were tortured, forced to sign various blank papers and were given electric shocks to confess the alleged crime and their association with political parties.The submission has been made in an application filed before Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur of Patiala House Courts by five out of six accused persons namely Sagar Sharma, Manoranjan D, Lalit Jha, Mahesh Kumawat and Amol Shinde.The application states that the accused persons were forced to provide their passwords for social media account, emails and phones. It adds that those conducting polygraph or narco test pressed two accused persons to name a political party or leader about their alleged involvement.All the accused persons, including Neelam Azad, were produced today before the court after which their judicial custody was extended till March 01. The court listed the application for further hearing on February 17 and asked the Delhi Police to file its response to the same. Recently, the court had dismissed the bail application moved by accused Neelam Azad. Earlier, the court had directed the Delhi Police to supply copy of the FIR to Azad. However, the order was stayed later by the Delhi High Court after the Delhi Police challenged the same. The petition is pending before the court.In a major security breach on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, two persons jumped into the chamber of Lok Sabha from the public gallery when the Zero Hour was in session. The duo was identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D.In the photographs and videos that surfaced on social media, the two were seen holding canisters which released yellow gas. They were also shouting slogans. However, they were overpowered by some of the Member of Parliaments (MPs).Two other accused, identified as Amol Shinde and Neelam Azad, also sprayed coloured gas from similar canisters outside the premises of the Parliament. They were reportedly shouting "tanashahi nahi chalegi.”
