The Delhi High Court has issued notice on the plea filed by a Bhojpuri Actress, Neha Shree seeking registration of FIR and subsequent investigation regarding hacking of her Facebook Page and account.

Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar sought response of Facebook, Delhi Government and city Cyber Cell in the plea which also sought direction on Facebook to restore the access of the Facebook page and to delete all obscene, immoral and illegal content from the same.

It is the case of the actress that in the intervening night of 19th and 20th October 2021, she received an email from Facebook stating that she was removed as the admin of the Neha Shree Facebook page.

After reading the email and unable to access the page, a complaint was raised with Facebook about the hacking but no adequate response was received.

"That petitioner was shattered to see, that from her hacked Facebook account, immoral and obscene picturesI videos were being posted. Thereafter the hacker started posting explicit sexual content on page of the petitioner which was in public view being viewed by Crores of people who regularly visit the Facebook Page of the petitioner," the plea states.

According to the plea, it has been averred that the investigating agency of the State is entitle to act immediately on her complaint for the cybercrime committed against her under which her Facebook account and page was hacked.

"That keeping faith of the citizens of the country in the Rule of Law and to reassure the women that they are secure and that they will not be denied justice for any reasons whatsoever is equally important and the judiciary must be seen to take steps in order to play its very significant role to communicate the nation that they have faith in the system for good reason," the plea adds.

The matter will now be heard in March next year.
