Citing injustice to the poor due to the non-implementation of the National Litigation Policy by the Central Government, a public interest litigation has been moved in the Delhi High Court seeking directions to the Centre for uniform implementation of the policy across all ministries, departments, instruments and PSUs.

The plea claimed that the relevant litigation policies need to be implemented by both, the Union of India, and the Delhi government. While pleading for the Delhi government to follow the State Litigation Policy, the plea has also asked for a strict time schedule to be followed.
The matter has been adjourned for January 13, 2021, as the Division Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan scheduled to hear the matter, did not assemble on Monday.
Launched in 2010, the policy seeks to ensure the conduct of responsible litigation. The petitioner sought the court's intervention in the matter of judicial delay and stated that the problem of arrears of cases threatens the working of the whole system unless solved urgently.
