A Delhi court today directed the Delhi Police to file a detailed status report in relation to incident of robbery of a young practising advocate on NH-24 near city's Akshardham.

Noting that the complainant was an advocate, Judicial Magistrate First Class Amit Rana of Karkardooma Courts ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) concerned to personally supervise the investigation.

The Court has directed that the status report be filed before the next date of hearing i.e. August 01.

The case pertains to the robbery of Karan Mishra, a young practising advocate and former judicial law clerk-cum-researcher at the Delhi High Court, who was attacked by two motorcycle-borne assailants while returning home from work at around 8 PM on June 27.

According to the complaint, the assailants snatched the lawyer's bag containing his laptop, Bar Council identity card, advocate's stamp, wallet and other valuables worth approximately Rs. 2 lakh before fleeing from the spot.

It is Mishra's case that the stolen laptop contained years of legal work and confidential professional data accumulated during his legal practice, including material from his two-year tenure as a judicial law clerk-cum-researcher with a High Court judge.

It has further been alleged that soon after the incident, Mishra began receiving repeated phishing messages allegedly sent by the robbers in an attempt to gain access to the sensitive information stored on the stolen device.

Mishra contends that although an FIR was registered in the matter, no significant progress was made in tracing or identifying the accused or recovering the stolen property.

Taking note of the submissions, the JMFC today directed the concerned Investigating Officer to place a detailed status report on record.

Mishra appeared in person today. He is represented by Advocates Bhavya Sharma, Aditi Ajeet Saxena, Pragya Jaiswal and Fateh Khanna.
