    Being dissatisfied with the claims made by the State government to deal with the spread of Dengue fever in the city of Prayagraj, the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday sought the personal presence of the District Magistrate, the Municipal Commissioner, and the Chief Medical Officer, Prayagraj on November 4.

    The bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice J. J. Munir ordered thus while dealing with a suo moto PIL Plea initiated to deal with the spread of Dengue fever in the city of Prayagraj.

    In its order, the Court categorically noted that it was not satsfied with the tall claims made by the local authorities specifying the steps taken to prevent spread of Dengue fever. Further, the Court also took into account the general feedback conveyed to the bench Senior Advocate Radha Kant Ojha, the President of the Bar, that proper fogging is not being done throughout the city besides other preventive steps.

    In view of this, the Court has directed the District Magistrate, the Municipal Commissioner and the Chief Medical Officer, Prayagraj to appear in person in Court on November 4, 2022.

    In related news, earlier, taking into account the spread of dengue fever in Lucknow, the Allahabad High Court last month directed the Nagar Nigam, Lucknow to specify steps taken by it for control and prevention of dengue fever in the City.

    The bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Jaspreet Singh had issued this direction in a PIL Plea pertaining to the medical facilities available in the State Government Hospitals.
