The Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Patna, under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA), embarked on a significant initiative at Beur Adarsh Central Jail today.

This initiative, known as the "Radio Dosti Program," unfolded as Secretary of DLSA Patna, Sri Prahlad Kumar, addressed all inmates through this recently inaugurated facility provided by the Government of Bihar.

The program, which marks a pioneering endeavor in Bihar, comes as part of a broader nationwide campaign titled "Restoring the Youth: Pan India Campaign for Identifying Juveniles in Prison and Rendering Legal Assistance-2024," initiated by NALSA. This campaign aims to address pertinent issues surrounding juveniles in prison and provide them with necessary legal aid.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman of NALSA, during the launch of the above pan India campaign had provided guidance and encouragement to all State Legal Services authorities and District Legal Services authorities through a virtual address on January 25, 2024. He underscored the potential positive outcomes of this Pan India program, set to commence from January 26, 2024.

Secretary of DLSA Patna, Sri Prahlad Kumar, utilized the platform of Radio Dosti to not only disseminate awareness among inmates but also to highlight their commendable endeavors within the jail premises. Notably, initiatives like the Mukti Bazaar program and various industrial works undertaken by the inmates received acknowledgment, emphasizing both their diligence and the encouragement towards engaging in productive activities.
