The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice S. K. Kaul, on Monday, expressed displeasure at the abuse of the court's jurisdiction by filing increasingly frivolous PILs.

The bench was irked by Two successive PILs listed before it; while one prayed for the Aligarh Muslim University to be renamed, the other sought access to clean public toilets to be declared a Fundamental Right.

Interestingly, both the PILs came to be filed by members of the bar- advocates Rudra Vikram Singh and Anshul Chowdhary respectively.

The Chief Justice reprimanded the petitioner-in-person seeking that the name of the AMU be changed, dismissing the plea- "You want the court to do that? Is that for us to do?"

The petition seekin the right to hygienic public washrooms was also dismissed by the Bench.

"What has happened to the young members of the legal profession?", lamented Chief Justice Gogoi.
