In a collaborative effort between the Chief Justice and Judges of the Gujarat High Court and the Health Ministry of the Government of Gujarat, a state-of-the-art medical facility was inaugurated at Entry Gate No. 5 of the High Court premises.

The inauguration ceremony, held on November 9, 2023, saw the presence of the Health Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Rushikesh Patel, Chief Justice Mrs. Justice Sunita Agarwal, and all companion Judges of the High Court.

Aligned with the guidelines set forth by the Supreme Court of India, particularly in All India Judges Association & Ors. v. Union of India & Ors. (order dated 02.08.2018 [I.A.No.279/2010]) and Pradyuman Bisht Vs. Union of India & Ors. (Order dated 11.08.2023 [Writ Petition (Cri.) No. 99 of 2015]), this medical facility is poised to serve the diverse medical needs of staff members, advocates, advocate clerks, security personnel, and litigants within the High Court premises.

The dedicated medical facility, inaugurated by Health Minister Mr. Rushikesh Patel, is well-equipped with a range of medical services. Medical experts, including M.D. doctors, in the disciplines of Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, General Medicine, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and visiting specialists, will provide comprehensive health services.

The facility aims to provide examination, consultation, prescription, and dispensing of medicines by practitioners and specialists in Allopathy, Homeopathy, and Ayurveda. Additionally, a Yoga & Wellness Centre has been established to deliver health services of a rehabilitative nature.

The medical facility will facilitate minor procedures such as dressing and administering injections, as well as offer observation and short stay in emergencies. Furthermore, it will deliver primary services in health education and health promotion, focusing on raising the level of nutrition, improving the standard of living, and enhancing the overall health of beneficiaries.

The Government of Gujarat has played a pivotal role in this initiative by granting necessary approval and allocating medical equipment. Medical officers from various disciplines, including General Physician, Gynecologist, Orthopaedic, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, as well as personnel for Physiotherapy and Yoga and Wellness Centre, have been deputed to ensure the smooth functioning of the center.

To enhance accessibility, the medical facility is equipped with wheelchair facilities, ensuring convenient movement for specially-abled visitors within the High Court precincts.

The inauguration event also marked the release of a Polo golf cart, a battery-operated vehicle designed to assist senior citizens and specially-abled individuals in reaching the nearest locations of the Courts and Administrative Buildings within the campus from the public entry gate.
