    On the occasion of the Annual Conference of Judges of the District Judiciary, the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority (GSLSA) organized a series of initiatives at the Gujarat High Court Auditorium, Ahmedabad, aimed at strengthening access to justice and promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms across the State.

    The programme was led by Member Secretary Ms. Hetal M. Pavar and Joint Secretary Mrs. Arati A. Vyas.

    Flag-Off of Multi-Utility Vehicles

    A total of 25 Multi-Utility Vehicles (MUVs) for GSLSA and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) were flagged off by Justice Vikram Nath, Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), in the presence of Justice N. V. Anjaria, Justice Vipul M. Pancholi, Justice Sunita Agarwal, Justice Alpesh Y. Kogje, and Justice A. S. Supehia.

    The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with NALSA, is aimed at enhancing outreach and operational efficiency by facilitating the delivery of legal aid services to rural, remote, and underserved areas.

    Launch of “Community Mediation (Trading Community)” Initiative

    GSLSA also announced the launch of the “Community Mediation (Trading Community)” initiative across Gujarat under the aegis of NALSA and in alignment with the Mediation Act, 2023.

    The initiative seeks to institutionalize traditional dispute resolution practices among trade bodies such as Chambers of Commerce and Vyapari Associations by recognizing and training community mediators. It aims to promote amicable settlement of commercial disputes, reduce the burden on courts, and strengthen trust-based resolution systems within the trading community.

    Certificate Distribution to Mediators

    Certificates were distributed to 11 mediators from Gujarat who have been newly empanelled as trainers on the panel of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee after completing Training of Trainers programmes.

    The certificates were presented by Justice Vikram Nath in the presence of Judges of the Supreme Court and the Gujarat High Court.

    The initiative is expected to strengthen the pool of qualified trainers, accelerate mediation training programmes, and enhance the quality and effectiveness of mediation services in the State.
