Woman Sues Son And Daughter In Law For Grandchild, Seeks Rs 5 Crore Compensation

She has accused the couple of mental torture for not planning a child in a case filed under section 12 of the Domestic Violence Act.

According to the woman, she and her husband got their son married in 2016 and sent the couple for their honeymoon to Thailand with great hopes.

Their son is a pilot. They claim to have raised him with a lot of love and also paid for his education in the US. The mother estimated the amount spent on the son at Rs 2 crore. This included the US flying school fee of Rs. 35 lakhs, cost of living in the US of Rs 20 lakhs, an Audi A6 costing Rs 65 lakhs etc.

The mother said that the couple was being influence by the daughter-in-law's family and therefore sought orders against the in-laws, as well.

The petitioner said that she and her husband were forced publish an advertisement in the newspaper remove the couple from their property. But the couple moved to Hyderabad and ceased communication.

The mental pain caused cannot be compensation, by anything the woman claimed.
