The International Court of Justice will deliver its judgment in  Kulbhushan Jadhav case on 17th July 2019.

A public sitting will take place at 3 p.m. at the Peace Palace in The Hague, during which Judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, President of the Court, will read the Court's decision, the press release read.

The UN court had held public hearings from February 18 to February 21 in the case concerning the execution of former Indian Navy Officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was sentenced to death by a Pakistani Military Court on espionage charges. India had approached the UN court against the move of Pakistan to execute the death sentence awarded to Jadhav on espionage charges.

Earlier, the court had provisionally stayed the execution and had directed Pakistan to take "all measures at its disposal" to prevent the execution of Mr. Jadhav, pending final judgment.

During the public hearing, Senior Advocate Harish Salve, who appeared for the Indian Side, had argued that Pakistan violated its obligations under Article 36 of Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963 by refusing India consular access to Jadhav when he was under detention. In response, Queen's Counsel Khawar Qureshi, who appeared for Pakistan, had dubbed India's claim as Outlandish.

Live Law had covered the proceedings in detail which can be read here.
