IDIA is setting up physical centers to help students who cannot meet the technical requirements of NLAT (National Law Admission Test) by National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. The exam is scheduled for this Saturday, 12 September 2020.

On 3 September 2020, NLSIU announced that it will be conducting a separate entrance test called the National Law Admission Test (NLAT) which will be conducted remotely. NLSIU has recently updated its technical requirements for the test to make it available on Android mobile phones in addition to computers/desktops. It has also announced 14 physical centers in different states where candidates can avail of testing facilities.

The short notice given for the examination makes it especially difficult for students from underprivileged backgrounds and remote areas to make the arrangements for the examination. As the technical requirements would create difficulties for many students who want to write NLAT, IDIA Charitable Trust (IDIA) plans to set up as many physical centers as possible for conducting the examinations in order to help the students. Current estimate of seats available at these centers that are proposed to set up by IDIA is 200+. These physical centers would allow the digital divide to be narrowed. The centers will be in places like Telangana, Karnataka, Mumbai, New Delhi etc.

Students who wish to sit for NLAT and need technical assistance may fill this form to seek assistance from IDIA. Currently, around 70 people have already filled this form and IDIA expects the number of people seeking assistance to reach 100. We have received the greatest number of requests from Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

IDIA Charitable Trust (IDIA) is currently looking for volunteers who could help in its endeavour to set up the physical centers.

IDIA needs laptops, internet, monetary help and on-site volunteers for the date of the examination. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill this form.
