The Karnataka High Court has extended the operation of all the interim orders passed by it or the Subordinate Courts and Tribunals, that are due to expire within a span of one month, till July 6, 2020.

As per an administrative order issued by the Registrar General, a judicial order to the above effect was passed by a Division bench of the High Court on Thursday.

Further, it is intimated that:

  • If the Criminal Courts in the State have granted bail orders or anticipatory bail for a limited period which are likely to expire in one month, the said orders will stand extended till July 6.
  • If any orders of eviction, dispossession or demolition are already passed by the High Court, District or Civil Courts, the same shall remain in abeyance till July 6.
  • The Court has also requested the State Government, Municipal Authorities and the agencies and instrumentalities of the State Government to be slow in taking action of demolition and eviction of persons, due to the prevalent lockdown situation.
