    The Registrar of Supreme Court, Deepak Jain, has asked the officer bearers of the Supreme Court Bar Association to attend the meeting of the Committee for Rationalization of Use of Papers in the Supreme Court of India and for Introduction of Paperless Courts, scheduled to be held on January 29, 2020 to discuss the following issues:

    1. To effect amendments in Supreme Court Rules, 2013 relating to paper and other parameters with a view to minimize its consumption;
    2. To send all communication from the Registry to AsOR through email only;
    3. To effect prior service of petition on the Union of India or the State Government or to any of its authorities where it's a party in (a) SPL (criminal)/ statutory criminal appeals, (b) tax matters, and (c) arbitration matters before filing the same in the Registry
    4. To resume earlier practice of filing of a common compilation of written contentions of facts and law to be urged and copies of, documents (from the record of the case), judgments/authorities in support thereof, by both parties, before commencement of arguments.

    The Committee consists of Justices Hemant Gupta and S. Ravindra Bhat and the meeting will be held on the aforementioned date at 4.15 pm in the Committee Room situated at the SC Main Building.
