The District and Sessions Court of Jabalpur has become the first district court in the country to provide the facility of online certified copies to advocates and litigants, to enhance the "ease of doing business".
Last year, this facility was introduced at the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, making it the first court in the country to provide online certified copies.
The "innovative tool" has been accomplished under the effective guidance of Justice SC Sharma, Chairman of the Computer Committee of the high court. It was launched on January 27 by the high court Chief Justice AK Mittal and Justice Sanjay Yadav, in the presence of Justices Sujoy Paul, Atul Sreedharan and JP Gupta.
During the inaugural ceremony, Chief System Analyst and Central Project Coordinator of the e-Committee of the high court, Kuldeep Singh, presented the working of the software.
As per the press release issued in this behalf, litigant/counsels may make an online request to obtain certified copy, both through mobile as well as the laptop. They will have an option to get the certified copy on Counter of Copying Section or at their home by postal mode or through e-mail, after making an application in that behalf from the high court website and making online payment.
