The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday sought the response from the central and state government on a plea moved by Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya's seeking permission to enter the Taj Mahal premises in Agra with his Dharmdand (made of wood) wearing 'Bhagwa Vastra'.

The division bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Yogendra Kumar Srivastava has posted the matter for further hearing on September 5 as it asked the Union of India and the state government to filed their responses in four weeks' time.

    The plea in brief

Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya (petitioner no.1) is a Mahamandaleshwar of the Sri Tapaswi Ji Ki Chawani Tapasvi Acharya Peethadhishwar situated at Ramghat, Ayodhyaji and petitioner no.2 (Dharmendra Goswami) is also the Peethadhishwar/ Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Sri Shankaracharya Sanatan Dashnam Goswami, Akhada situated at Srimath Maheshwar Dham, Sunrakh Road, Vridawan, Mathura.

They both have moved the High Court seeking a direction to the Taj Mahal official authorities to allow their entry and their pupils into the Tajmahal with their Dharmdand and Bhagwa Vastra without any restriction.

It may be noted that on April 26, 2022 when Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya was trying to enter into the Tajmahal, the security officers of the Tajmahal had not allowed him to enter into the Tajmahal due to the fact that he was carrying Dharmdand and he wore the Bhagwa Vastra.

Again, on May 2, 2022, when the petitioner no.2 along with petitioner no.1 were trying to enter Taj Mahal premises, they were denied entry and they were house arrested.

Now, against this act of the Taj Mahal authorities, the petitioners moved representation before the competent authority of Archeological Survey of India on May 3, 2022 for permission of the petitioners to visit into the Tajmahal, however, no action was taken and therefore, the moved to the HC with the instant plea seeking permission to enter Taj Mahal with their Dharmdand (made of wood) wearing 'Bhagwa Vastra'.

Their plea before the HC states that the Dharamdand is made of wood only and it does not contain any metal or any prohibited items and that it is covered by saffron cloth.

It has been further stated in the in the plea that the petitioners have a doubt that there is some mystery in the Tajmahal and they have suspicion that there were some ancient Hindu temples which have been closed inside the closed 20 rooms of the Tajmahal, therefore local administration had not allowed the petitioners to enter into the Tajmahal.
