Jarkiholi Sex CD Case : Victim Writes To Karnataka HC Chief Justice Seeking Protection, Court Monitored Probe

The victim in the alleged rape case registered against former State minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has written to the Karnataka High Court chief justice, seeking protection for her life and safety and also court's monitoring of the probe. The victim in her email said that Ramesh Jarkiholi was a highly influential person and has threatened her in public of going to any extent against her to clear the charges against him. "I have already expressed my serious apprehension about the frequent threats being caused to me and my parents by Jarkiholi and his followers through several press meetings." "I have also expressed my apprehension that there is a threat to myself and my parents from Ramesh Jarakiholi, who is a highly influential person. And, I have requested the Special Investigation Team seeking protection for myself and my parents. Despite my apprehension, the SIT has not given any protection to my parents and to myself so far, in collusion with Jarkiholi" , she said.The email was sent on March 28. A case has been registered against the ex-Minister by the Cubbon Park police station under Section 354, 506, 504, 376(c), 417 of 1. P. C. read with Section -67 (A) of I.T. Act. It is also said in the letter that SIT, in collusion of Ramesh Jarakiholi and the Karnataka GOvernment may kill her at any place at any point of time will destroy every piece of evidence regarding commission of offences to safeguard Ramesh Jarakiholi Further, it is said that the claim that i was kidnapped is baseless and my family has been pressured to make such a statement, this is my fight the family is captive of Ramesh Jarakiholi.Jarakiholi had to resign as a State Minister after a CD allegedly containing visuals of sex acts with a woman surfaced in public domain. Following his resignation, six other State Ministers secured an interim injunction from a city civil court against media houses telecasting similar reports against them.
