The conference forms part of the National Commission for Women's nationwide initiative to hold regional conferences across different zones before culminating in a National Convention. According to the organisers, the objective is to review the implementation of laws relating to women, identify institutional challenges, share best practices and develop a coordinated national approach to ensuring effective access to justice for women. The Bengaluru conference is the first in this series.

The inaugural session will be presided over by Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka and Patron-in-Chief of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Karnataka Judicial Academy and Karnataka Mediation Centre. Justice Jayant Banerji and Justice S.G. Pandit, Judges of the Karnataka High Court, will attend as Guests of Honour, while Dr. Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, will address the gathering.

During the inaugural ceremony, the organisers will release the digital version of the handbook "We the Women of India" and the publication "Breaking the Silence – A Complete Guide to Domestic Violence and the Law."

The conference will feature four technical sessions covering significant issues concerning justice for women. Discussions will focus on access to justice through legal aid, the rights of women accused, victim compensation and rehabilitation, implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, mediation in matrimonial, child custody, partition, succession and domestic violence disputes, as well as women's safety in public places, within households and in the digital space, including an assessment of the implementation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

The organisers have stated that women Judges of the Supreme Court, Judges from High Courts across the southern region, senior advocates, mediators, senior police officers, academicians and subject experts will participate as chairpersons, co-chairpersons and panellists in the deliberations.

The conference will conclude with a valedictory function on August 9, where Justice V. Mohana, Judge, Supreme Court of India, will deliver the valedictory address. The session will be presided over by Justice Lisa Gill, Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, with NCW Chairperson Dr. Vijaya Rahatkar attending as the Guest of Honour.
