Justice Vikram Nath Inaugurates Computer Lab And Tele-MANAS Facility At Bengaluru Central Prison

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) and the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services organized a programme on “Right of Parole, Remission and Release under Poor Prisoner's Scheme” at Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara, Bengaluru, on May 31, 2026.
Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, NALSA, inaugurated a Computer Lab, an initiative of R.V. College of Engineering, and TELE-MANAS, an initiative of NIMHANS, at the prison.
Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court and Patron-in-Chief, KSLSA; Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge, Karnataka High Court and Executive Chairperson, KSLSA; K.S. Bharath Kumar, Registrar General, Karnataka High Court; H. Shashidhara Shetty, Member Secretary, KSLSA; and Sanjiv Pandey, Member Secretary, NALSA, accompanied Justice Vikram Nath during the visit.
During the visit, the dignitaries interacted with inmates who had availed legal aid and services from Legal Aid Defence Counsels and the offices of the District Legal Services Authorities, Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural. They also inspected the barracks, Prison Legal Aid Clinic and De-addiction Centre.
