    The High Court of Karnataka has issued a notification stating that it will remain closed for the period from Wednesday the 15th April 2020 to Thursday the 30th April 2020 (both days inclusive) in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.     The High Court of Karnataka has issued a notification stating that it will remain closed for the period from Wednesday the 15th April 2020 to Thursday the 30th April 2020 (both days inclusive) in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The period of closure shall be treated as closure of courts within the meaning of Section 4 of the Limitation Act, 1963.

    Matters of extreme urgency at Principle Seat at Bengaluru and Benches at Dharwad as well as Kalaburagi will be heard via video conferencing on 16th April, 21st April, 24th April and 28th April at 11.00 AM or on such other day as directed by the Chief Justice.

    No conventional filing will be allowed during the period, and the procedure of e-filing has been previously notified.

    The notification further states that during the closure period, no members of the Bar or their Registered Clerks shall be permitted to do the rectification of office objections in the matters which have already been filed.

    Entry will only be allowed for payment of process fee on the aforesaid dates between 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM. This will be limited to only the members of the Bar and their Registered Clerks who have moved memos.

    The aforementioned directions will be applicable to the Principle Seat as well as the other Benches.
